Jene Brideau won an award her writing a poem when she was in high school but was never encouraged to further her talent. In 2003, I had a vivid dream that caught my attention, that spurred me to write it down, and sent it to my sister T. Jene Brideau, for an interpretation. She wrote and told me that the story was good, so I took her encouragement and wrote great Christian space adventures stories. When my older sister Jene saw the books, I had published years later, she began to write short stories. However, Jene passed away in 2021 and didn’t have the chance to get her stories published, so, in the back of The Key is the stories she wrote.

A Canyon ranger happened by and questioned, “Is there a problem?”
Bo answered, “Our friend is lodged on a ledge four hundred feet down on the canyon wall, and this man is going to get the necessary equipment to rescue her.”
“I will rope off the area to keep nosy onlookers away. Do you need anything?”
“Some bottled water and energy bars would be great.” The sun hung low in the sky when the men from the explorer’s club raced up with climbing gear and spotlights. One man slipped into a climbing harness, threw the rope down the side of the canyon, then slowly repelled until he reached Beebe. He touched her throat and hollered, “She’s alive! Throw down another rope so I can tie it around her waist!”
The man had finished securing the rope around Beebe when she opened her eyes, looked down at the canyon far below, and screamed, “Oh Lord no, I’m gonna die a horrible death!” and began to scream in terror.
